Two Canadian music awards were recently presented to top Children's Music performers: The Independent Music Awards' Favorite Children's Artist, and The JUNO Awards' Children's Album of the Year.
The Independent Music Awards are part of Canadian Music Week at Toronto's annual International Music Convention. The 2009 Indies Award for Favorite Children's Artist went to Jack Grunsky, a 25-year veteran in the children's music field. The JUNO Award for 2009 Children's Album of the Year went to Barenaked Ladies' Snack Time!, the debut kids' CD from a band that's been entertaining grownups for two decades. By the way, Jack Grunsky's Catchy Tune was also nominated for Children's Album of the Year at the JUNO Awards.
