Kids' Music Festival in Folsom, California, August 29

Friday August 28, 2009

Looking for an inexpensive way to spend the day out with your family? Tomorrow morning, Saturday, August 29, marks the second annual Children’s Music Festival at the Folsom Aquatic Center in Folsom, California. Performances run from 10am to 12:30pm, and admission is only $6 and includes free admission to the center at 1pm, following the festival.

Families will get to hear Tim "The Piano Man" Williams, Gary Bowman, Frankie “Dizzy Fingers” Maranzino and two-time GRAMMY Award winner Native American flautist Mary Youngblood. Gary Bowman's latest album, Songs of the Ocean, was a collaboration with Mary Youngblood.

The Hawkins School of Performing Arts and the Aloha Dancers will be providing dance performances. In addition to performances, North Ridge Music will offer an “instrument petting zoo” with their interactive Instrument Exploration Table. First through sixth-grade children will get more hands-on experience with singing workshops provided by the Northern California Children’s Chorus Organization.

For more info, drop by the Folsom Aquatic Center at 1200 Riley Street, or give them a call at 916-355-8319.
