How 'bout we worry more about our own children's health, and here's a fun way to start: dig Allen Bleyle's concept album Get Fruity!!, in which every track highlights fruits, vegetables, water, and healthy eating in general.
With the innocent enthusiasm of Jonathan Richman, the eclectic inventiveness of Mr. David, and the general kookiness of The Bonzo Dog Doo-Dah Band, Bleyle performs as his alter ego Apple Brains and ends up creating some of the best kids' music of 2009.
Bleyle first started writing and performing his kids' songs as a Nutrition Musician in the greater L.A.-area school system for the Network for a Healthy California initiative. He combined his vegetarian background with his indie rock connections to create Apple Brains' debut kids' album Get Fruity!!
