A couple of years ago, Dean Jones put out an album of lullabies called Napper's Delight that ranks right up there with some of the best bedtime/chillout CDs ever, including Sunflow's Under the Stars and Kesang Marstrand's Hello Night. This year, however, Jones returns with his second solo outing, Rock Paper Scissors, that's loud, rowdy, and full of energy.
As head honcho of the Hudson Valley-based kids' group Dog On Fleas, Jones has been making music for families for over a decade now. On Rock Paper Scissors, Jones utilizes his band's deep, collective well of influences to create an earthy, witty, rock/jazz/Americana hybrid that will more than likely end up on everyone's Top 10 list of best kids' music of 2010.
