Disney's Shake It Up: Break It Down soundtrack seems to be another in the Disney Channel's long line of music releases in their relentless pursuit of the next High School Musical, Camp Rock, Hannah Montana, or Jonas Brothers phenom.
The album is a compilation of tunes performed on, or used as background music in, the Disney tween comedy dance TV series Shake It Up, starring Bella Thorne and Zendaya. Selena Gomez is the featured performer amongst a host of singers on Shake It Up: Break It Down, and delivers the lead off single "Shake It Up."
